Unable to Delete or Update a Manual SLA Journal Entry In Final Status

Goal
A manually created SLA Journal Entry is created with status = FINAL.
The GL period for which this journal is created is closed.
Users are unable to make any changes to or delete the journal.
The following error is returned:
'Row 1 Error - You cannot delete the subledger journal entry Test entry. You can delete a subledger journal entry for the primary or secondary ledger only if its type is manual, it is not completed as Final and if its GL date is in an open period. Please verify the subledger journal entry type, completion status and GL period status before attempting to delete.'
