Symptoms

HTML User Interface

When attempting to Place Order in a HTML Quoting for a quote with several header level descriptive flexfields (DFFs) the following error occurs.

Error

Error messages from Order Management
Program error: Please inform your support representative that: FLEXFIELDS SERVER-SIDE VALIDATION package reports error: table_validate() exception: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number conversion error
User-Defined Exception in Package OE_Validate Procedure Header_Desc_Flex
There is an error in order submission.


Steps to Reproduce

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

Quoting

  1. Responsibility: Oracle Quoting
  2. Navigation: Quote
  3. Create a new quote in HTML Quoting
  4. Add quote line
  5. Populate the header level descriptive flexfields and try to submit the quote

OR

iStore

  1. Choose Add To Cart for an item
  2. Choose Checkout and continue button,
  3. Try to choose the Place Order button in the Checkout: Review and Place Order page

 

Changes

 Descriptive Flexfield (DFF) setup changes.
