Cannot Ship Confirm A Delivery Containing A Service Item (non-stockable But Shippable) (Doc ID 1592952.1)

Last updated on JUNE 26, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Shipping Execution - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Unable to Ship Confirm a delivery containing a service item (non-stockable but shippable)

If the item is locator-controlled, the INVENTORY CONTROL field at the Delivery Detail level shows "Subinventory, Locator". However, the locator could not be entered for any of these combinations because the error message "Project references must be entered for the given locator..." is also encountered.
  * Stock Area (S1) + Stock Bin (S2)
  * Stock Area (S1) + Stock Bin (S2) + Project (S19)
  * Stock Area (S1) + Stock Bin (S2) + Project (S19) + Task (S20)

On the other hand, if the item is NOT locator-controlled (at master and organization item levels), the INVENTORY CONTROL field at the Delivery Detail level shows "Subinventory". When you enter a subinventory, the Locator field becomes enabled which should not be.

Note that the same service item can be ship confirmed without any problem in R11 but not anymore in R12.

Warning: Delivery details xxxxxxx in this delivery do not satisfy inventory controls.
Warning: The Ship Confirm option selected will unassign all the lines from delivery 1195764.
