Oracle Depot Repair - Version 12.1.3 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Purpose
This document describes setup and patches required to handle the following scenario in Depot Repair:
Scenario
- Depot Repair Order for a 'Return for Repair'
- After the Item is received and inspected, it is decided the item is beyond repair and needs to be exchanged for a new product
- The Ship line for the returned Item is cancelled
- A new line is entered on the Repair Order for the Exchange. A Subtype (SAC) is used that has Source and Non-Source attributes so the new item can actually replace the defective one and inherit contracts.
The trick in this scenario is to create a new ship line, and make it have the correct references for source and non-source IB data.
Scope
This document is aimed at implementors and administrators
