In General Ledger, Opening a Closed Period in Release 12 Works Differently from Release 11i ( GLXOCPER) (Doc ID 1599534.1)

Goal

When trying to open a closed period from the Open and Close period form (GLXOCPER) in R12 General Ledger.
Setup -> Open/Close

The Status column has LOV which shows the following 3 statuses for a Closed Period.

1. Closed.
2. Open
3. Permanently Closed

When  'open' is selected the following message is displayed  "Please press the Open Period button and select a closed period to reopen".

In 11i the period is directly opened by selecting Open from the List of Values.
