Oracle Installed Base - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

According to the Installed Base user Manual, to create a Formula counter, it is possible to use any valid expression in standard SQL.
I’ve tried using a SELECT SUM ( ) sentence, but when attempting to save the counter, Installed Base displays the error 'Formula text is invalid', and it's not possible to save the formula counter.
The SQL expression has been already tested using Toad for Oracle, and it works correctly.

'Formula text is invalid',

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
-Go to Installed Base Agent User Responsibility.
-Select: Counters >>Counter Instances >> Create.
-Fill the counter name and unit of measure fields.
-From Counter Type, select 'Formula' and click Go.
-Fill 'Counter Group' and 'Usage Item' info, as well as the 'Association' section.
-Enter a SELECT SUM ( ) expression in the 'Formula Text' field and attempt to Save/Apply the changes.
