SSHR Error Adding Existing Primary Contact as an Emergency Contact

If an existing Primary Contact is added as an Emergency Contact in Self-Service, the following error is thrown on the Submit page

“Your changes have not been sent for approval because the following error occurred. : This employee already has a primary contact. Cause: You are trying to enter more than one primary contact for an employee. Action: Uncheck the Primary Contact check box and save your contact information.”

The employee does not have more than one primary contact or any future dated primary contacts. The update to the existing primary contact to add a relationship type of Emergency is causing the issue.

 

Steps to Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:


Step 1) Select Contacts from Fastpath menu


Step 2) Search for Employee and create a New Contact (in HRMS)

Step 3) Tick ‘Primary’ checkbox and ‘Save’ new primary contact

Step 4) Login and Navigate to Employee Self-Service


Step 5) Click ‘Add’ button on Emergency Contacts table

Step 6) Click ‘Add’ button on Emergency Contacts table

Step 7) Add any mandatory information and click ‘Next’


Step 8) On Review page click ‘Submit’

Step 9) Receive Error:

Your changes have not been sent for approval because the following error occurred. : This employee already has a primary contact. Cause: You are trying to enter more than one primary contact for an employee. Action: Uncheck the Primary Contact check box and save your contact information.
