Purpose

Before setting up any ledger or depreciation book, one should design the structure/architecture of the setup. The purpose of this document is to discuss the various options to associate corporate and tax book(s) in Oracle Assets with the ledger types available at a higher level to allow users to design their setup best possible based on the individual requirements.

Scope

We will explain which options for association are available and what the advantages and restrictions are. We will mention what is displayed in Oracle Assets and into which ledger journals can be created. We will not display in detail how to set up a ledger via the Accounting Setup Manager nor will we provide detailed setup information for Oracle Assets.
