R12: Task Name Length Different Between Self Service Web Application (SSWA) and Projects Forms (Doc ID 1614756.1)

Goal

In the self service page, the system allows you the creation of a task whose length is up to 240 character as the length of the column TASK_NAME in pa_proj_elements is VARCHAR2(240).

If the project is opened in Projects form, the length of the task name is restricted to 20 character as length of the column TASK_NAME  in  pa_tasks is VARCHAR2(20) and it is restricted to 20 characters.


What is the impact of having a task number that is too long in terms of system processing, etc?

If there is an impact, then is there a way that the task number can be shortened (in Forms it shows truncated to 25 characters)? 

Can the validation in HTML be restored to ensure that this issue does not reoccur?
