Master Items With Multiple Segments Cannot Be Found In Iprocurement (Doc ID 1622407.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 10, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle iProcurement - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Oracle iProcurement, Release 12.1.3, when searching for a master item that has multiple segments and the segment separator is included in the search string, the message "No results found" appears and the item is not returned in the search results.
It is expected that the item is returned in the search results when the segment separator is utilized.

The item is returned in the search results when the segment separators are replaced by a single blank space.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Log in to Oracle Applications, using an iProcurement responsibility.
2. On the Shopping home page, in the Search field, enter the item number with the segment separators (example: "503.545.001197") and click the Go button. The item is not found and "No results found" message appears.
2. On the Shopping home page, in the Search field, enter the item number by replacing the segment separators with a blank space (example: "503 545 001197") and click the Go button. The item is found and returned in the search results.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
Due to this issue, users cannot search for the items using segment separators, which are how the items appear on purchase orders and on requisitions in Oracle Purchasing.
