Symptoms

On : 12.1.1 version, Workflow,Approval,Common Funct

Initially, some LOA were stuck in the workflow with the "Approver identified by the person id xxxxx invalid" error.

This error was due to a terminate approver in the hierarchy so an active employee was assigned as approver and then the workflow were retried.

When retrying the errored workflow items, these are stuck in Generic Approval Process Block.

 

ORA-20001: The approver identified by the following parameters is invalid: originating system PER originating-system ID 93730.
Please delete or replace this approver wherever they occur in AME data, including approval groups, list-modification conditions, and substitution actions.
This approver does not have an entry in wf_roles.



Steps to Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:


1. Identify an LOA stuck in the workflow with the error

ORA-20001: The approver identified by the following parameters is invalid: originating system PER originating-system ID 93730.
Please delete or replace this approver wherever they occur in AME data, including approval groups, list-modification conditions, and substitution actions.
This approver does not have an entry in wf_roles.

 2. Reassign a valid approver to replace the terminated approver
3. Retry the workflow
4. The transaction is stuck at HR_GENERIC_APPROVAL_PRC
