EAM WORK ORDER STATUS REMAINS PENDING RELEASED EVEN AFTER APPROVING THE APPROVAL WORKFLOW

Symptoms
ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
Even though the customer is approving from the responsibility and not the home page and is using seeded workflow and transaction type, the following error is seen and the work order remains in status Pending Released:

Wf_Engine_Util.Function_Call(EAM_WORKORDER_WORKFLOW_PVT.UPDATE_STATUS_APPROVED, EAMWOREL, ...., RUN)
WHAT IS WORKING
Nothing is working for this process.
STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigation : Maintenance SuperUser > Create Work order.
2. Approve from responsibility and NOT from home page.
3. Work Order stays in Pending released Status and the above error is seen in the workflow.
4. In addition, the workflowapproved.log shows the error below - however, it was verified that the customer is using the standard transaction type.
Message: Invalid Transaction Type for Work Order.
