Last updated on JANUARY 03, 2023

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Attempting to end date a Relationship and find that the HZ_HIERARCHY_NODES are updated incorrectly when the relationships are end-dated.
Hierarchical relationships were established between parties as shown below.

Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4
XxxxxLevel1
XxxxxLevel2
XxxxxLevel3A
XxxxxLevel4A
XxxxxLevel3B
XxxxxLevel4B

Steps to Reproduce:
Step 1: End-date parent/child relationship XxxxxLevel3A / XxxxxLevel4A:
Relationship end-dated successfully. Changes successfully cascaded up to top level parent.
XxxxxLevel3A to XxxxxLevel3A (level 0) is end dated
XxxxxLevel4A to XxxxxLevel4A (level 0) is end dated
XxxxxLevel4A to XxxxxLevel3A (level 1) is end dated
XxxxxLevel4A to XxxxxLevel2 (level 2) is end dated
XxxxxLevel4A to XxxxxLevel1 (level 3) is end dated

Step 2: Create parent/child relationship XxxxxLevel3B/XxxxxLevel4A:
Relationship established successfully. Relationships successfully cascaded up to top level parent. (You only see one active level 0 for XxxxxLevel4A)

Step 3: End-date parent/child relationship XxxxxLevel3A/XxxxxLevel2:
Relationship end-dated successfully.
Changes for XxxxxLevel3A is successfully cascaded up to top level parent:
XxxxxLevel3A to XxxxxLevel3A is end dated
XxxxxLevel3A to XxxxxLevel2 is end dated
XxxxxLevel3A to XxxxxLevel1 is end dated

However, the following relationships were also incorrectly end-dated:
Row 4 and 5 are XxxxxLevel2 to XxxxxLevel4A, both are end dated.
There should only be one row is end dated, another one should be ACTIVE, since there is still a relationship (XxxxxLevel4A to XxxxxLevel3B to XxxxxLevel2 to XxxxxLevel1)
Row 6 and 7 are incorrectly end dated as well, for relationship XxxxxLevel1 to XxxxxLevel4A
