Error: 'Lot/Serial validation failed', When Performing An Account Alias Receipt

When attempting to perform an Account Alias Receipt for an Item Number and Serial Number via the Transaction Open Interface (mtl_transactions_interface table), the transaction fails with the following error:
Lot/Serial validation failed. Please check log for details.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Insert the transaction data into the mtl_transactions_interface table and the corresponding serial data into the mtl_serial_numbers_interface table.
2. Wait for the transaction manager to process the transaction.
3. The transactions fails with the above error.
Note: If the transaction is attempted in the Account Alias Receipt form, the Serial Number is present in the List of Values but cannot be selected.
