Last updated on APRIL 18, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle E-Business Tax - Version 12.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Effective from January 2013, there are changes in the validation of the Ireland Tax Registration Number and the customer tax profile is not allowing the additional character.

The new Tax number validation is formatted as  IE+ 7digits + 2 alpha characters. Example: IEXXXXXXXWH.
All Companies newly registered after 1 January 2013 will have the new format registration number assigned to them.

The current Tax number validation format is IE + 7 digits + 1 letter Example: IEXXXXXXA.

Existing Tax Registration numbers already will remain unchanged and will continue to be valid.
