(Doc ID 1639161.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 01, 2019
Oracle Inventory Management - Version 12.1.3 and later Information in this document applies to any platform.
ACTUAL BEHAVIOR The WIP Material transaction form allows the user to WIP Component Return the wrong serial number on a non-Standard WIP Job but the serial becomes unusable with the following error during WIP issue. Once the wrong serial is returned, the incorrect serial number gets locked up and cannot be removed from inventory using any WIP transactions.
-- What is working -- Cannot pick wrong serials for standard WIP jobs. This only happens on non-standard jobs.
-- Workaround -- The part can be removed from inventory using cycle counts or Miscellaneous transactions.
-- Error -- FRM-40212: Invalid value for field FM_SERIAL_NUMBER
-- Example Serial -- Item: 123 Correct Serial: A906 Invalid Serial : A609 <<--- Mixed the 6 and 9.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR Expect serials NOT to be locked if select wrong serial. * Note: Originally expected WIP job to avoid wrong serials but accept that this is a current expected feature for non-standard jobs.
1. Create a WIP job. 2. Issue material to job for serialized component (Serial #1). 3. Return material to job for serialized component (Serial #2). 4. Attempt to issue serialized component. 5. Error.
BUSINESS IMPACT Additional workaround steps are required to fix the issue
