Can you have different GL dates in secondary Ledger on transactions from Receivables? (Doc ID 1641374.1)

Last updated on APRIL 18, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Receivables - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Can you have different Accounting Dates or GL Dates in secondary ledger from Primary ledger on transactions where revenue recognitions has been run.

For example:
Primary ledger calendar  follows 4-4-5 periods sample period -- 23-Feb-14 to 22-Mar-14
Secondary ledger calendar follows monthly calender -- 01-Mar-14 to 31-Mar-14
Due to this difference some days like 25- Feb-2014 falls in MARCH period for primary ledger
and FEB period for secondary ledger.

When you have a service invoice which has a contract starting in the previous month or earlier, Oracle revenue recognition program will create amortization entries as per contract duration, the first period distribution gl date will be 23-FEb-14.
This date falls in FEB period as per secondary ledger and not the MAR period which is where distribution should be recognized.
