R12: UPGRADE Relationship Between the Bank And Bank Branch Errors “Please provide a valid parent bank for the bank branch” (Doc ID 1668348.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 11, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Cash Management - Version 12.0.0 to 12.2.9 [Release 12 to 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The issue is regarding the relationship between the bank and bank branch. Two rows exist for the relationship in the table "hz_relationships" where the column 'relationship_code' contains values such as 'BRANCH_OF' and 'HAS_BRANCH'. In the first row where relationship_code is 'BRANCH_OF', subject is branch and object is bank. In the second row where relationship_code is 'HAS_BRANCH', subject is bank and object is branch. This table has two columns 'start_date' and 'end_date'. These values for a particular example are both dates in the past. When you removed the 'inactive_date' through the application front end, it still retained these dates in "hz_relationships" table. What is the significance of the "end_date" column in this table when the bank and branch are still related.
