Invalid Serial Number Error in Packing Workbench (WMSPACWB) When Performing Successive LPN Split transactions (Doc ID 1671182.1)

When attempting to perform LPN Split transactions through the Packing Workbench form (WMSPACWB), the following error occurs.

The problem occurs when performing the following:
1) LPN Split from Lpn 1 into Lpn 2 of x serials
2) LPN Split from Lpn 2 into Lpn 3 of (some of) the serials, let's say in case of a user mistake for instance.

The problem occurs for the second transaction unless the user enters the item number and item revision. But having to enter these data is really unexpected. (it will slow down end users)

"Invalid Serial Number"

The issue can be replicated per the following steps:
1. Go to the Packing Workbench
Select the packing station
Source = Outbound
Check LPN Split
Press Find
2. In LPN Split window:
Generate the Into LPN
Scan the From LPN
Scan the Serial Number
Click Close LPN
In LPN Information window, just click Done
3. You are back in LPN Split window
Generate a new Into LPN
Scan the Into LPN of above step 2 as From LPN
Scan the Serial Number
Getting error "Invalid Serial Number"

At step 3, enter the item number and item revision before entering the serial number.

Business impact
The workaround is leading to providing an unmanageable user procedure for end users. They will never remind of it.
