Unable To End Date Duplicate Relationship

Attempting to end date a duplicate relationship and receive the following error:
Error Message : You cannot create a relationship for a time period that overlaps the time period of an existing relationship with the same subject id, relationship code, and object id.
Steps to Reproduce:
Responsibility: Customer Online
Navigation: Home > Customer Online page
1.Change the type to Person
2.Type email address and search .page will display the duplicate relationships.
3.End Date the relationship by giving end date and click on Save.
4.The error message is displayed.
