Oracle Service Contracts – How To Merge Assets Across Contracts (Doc ID 1684658.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 27, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Service Contracts - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

Contract consolidation can have multiple business drivers, such as customer's request, installation location of a group of assets, etc., which in turn aids the convenience of doing business with the customer.  With Release 12.1.3+ via <Patch R12.OKS.B.delta.4> or higher, users can now move assets from multiple source contracts to a single target contract using the new Contract Merge functionality.  This helps in improving the maintainability of customer contracts and avoids duplication of assets across the contract base.

This document explains the new functionality and how to implement it.

Note: Currently this functionality is limited to contracts of the same type. Enhancement Request 32135156 "UNABLE TO MERGE SERVICE LINE TO SUBSCRIPTION AGREEMENT" asks that this functionality be expanded to allow merging across contract type. Please log a Service Request if you want to be added to the customer list requesting this ER be implemented.

Scope

This document is intended for Service Contracts users and implementers.
