Depot Repair Error: "APP-CSD-209023: Invalid Installed Base Instance for the Item in the Repair Order" When Trying To Capture Serial Number (Doc ID 1901963.1)

On : 12.1.3 version, Service Request

User has two serial numbers of the same part number owned by FIRST customer.
FIRST customer sells the parts to SECOND customer but ownership in the Install base stays with FIRST customer.

SECOND customer logs a Service Request.
In order to capture the serial number for one of the two parts in SECOND's SR, an instance relationship is created.
SR is created successfully using FIRST as the Bill to address and SECOND as the Ship to.

When navigate to Tools> Quick Menu and go to Depot Repair. SR header in Repair Order form populates successfully.
Able to change the quantity to 2 and save. Draft Repair Order created. Serial number saved correctly.

When navigate to Tools> Capture Serial Number to enter both serial numbers. the following error occurs.

Error APP-CSD-209023: Invalid Installed Base Instance for the Item in the Repair Order

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Set up a Relationship instance in IB
2. Create SR for the Relationship Party and item instance
3. Go to Depot to capture serial number
4. Error
