Encounter Error javax.mail.MessagingException: No login methods supported After Configuring Workflow Notification Mailer with IMAP SSL (Doc ID 1903482.1)

Symptoms

On Oracle Applications 12.1.3 version, Workflow Mailer

 


After configuring Workflow Notification Mailer for IMAP SSL (INBOUND_SSL_ENABLED=Y), without SMTP SSL (OUTBOUND_SSL_ENABLED=N), the following error occurs in the Workflow notification log:

 javax.mail.MessagingException: No login methods supported



The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Configure Inbound EMail Account (IMAP) for Workflow Notification Mailer.
2 Ensure SSL certificate of OWA was imported to cacerts and the certificate is also placed $OA_JRE_TOP/lib/security
3 Ensure SSL Handshake works fine and completes the whole cycle when done from unix prompt using $AFJVAPRG as per <Note 985372.1>
