Is it Possible to Use Previous Revisions Of Components In a BOM Assembly? (Answer: No)
(Doc ID 1905219.1)

Goal
The Oracle E-Business Suite Bills of Material module user documentation does not clarify the intended functionality to address environments where an organization may want to add a previous revision of a component or subassembly in a BOM assembly. The observed functionality is that when a component item is assigned a new revision, the BOMs where that component is used automatically change the component revision to the new revision instead of keeping the component at the revision level it was at when assigned to the BOM. Also, the user cannot add a component's previous revision to a BOM assembly (rather, the current component revision is defaulted to the component line of the BOM).
Please clarify the intended functionality and whether or not a user can use a previous revision of a component to assign to a BOM or use as part of a WIP job material requirement.
