Can We Use OTA_CERTIFICATION_API To Change CERTIFICATION_DURATION For Existing Certification (Doc ID 1905315.1)

Goal

Customer has created a non renewable certification definition with the initial completion duration set to 30 days.
Unfortunately classes only run every couple of months so newly subscribed learners may not be able to enroll on a class within the certification period start and end dates.

Customer wants to change the initial completion date to 180 days.

All existing certification subscriptions are in Certified status.

Can the customer update the initial completion duration using OTA_CERTIFICATION_API to update this value, with the clear the assumption it will only impact new subscriptions i.e. those made after the change?
