Copy Item in Master Items Does Not Copy Default Category Assignments for Sets Assigned to OPM Functional Areas
Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017
Applies to:Oracle Item Master - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
When creating a new items in the Master Items (INVIDITM) form using the copy from item (tools / copy from), category assignments for Category Sets associated with OPM Functional Areas are not copied.
Expect that master controlled category assignments associated with Category Sets that are Defaults for a Functional Area will be propagated to the new item during the create with "copy from" Item process.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create item with default category assignment for master controlled category sets for various functional areas including process manufacturing.
2. Create an item (Navigation: items / master items / tools copy from item) using the copy from functionality and the previous item as the source.
3. OPM related category assignments are not propagated.
