In R12.2 Problems with MWA And Online Patching (Doc ID 1912303.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 23, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Mobile Application Server - Version 12.2.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

MWA ports are different in FS1 and FS2.

This difference in ports, causes inconvenience to Barcode scanner users who hardcode the MWA URL and port in their scanners.
Users will be required to make this configuration change, each time a patch is applied and FS is flipped.

When running adop phase=cutover the telnet process doesn't terminate

Found that when the MWA processes are running (as they should be) and run adop phase=prepare, it fails with messages saying the ports are in use.
Lines #(437-445):
Manager Server Port 4 available:  Port Value = <port number>

-----------------------------
ERROR: The following required ports are in use:
-----------------------------
<port range> : MSCA Server Port
<port> : MSCA Dispatcher Port
Corrective Action: Free the listed ports and retry the adop operation.

If the dispatcher and telnet servers shut down, then adop phase=prepare completes fine.
