Oracle Project Procurement provides integration of Oracle Projects with Oracle Procurement.  This is a new product available only through Oracle Endeca V5 and Information Discovery V6 and later for EBS. 

Functional silos and communication gaps between project management and procurement can increase project risk, create inefficiencies and make a significant impact on the bottom-line of projects,” said Cliff Godwin, senior vice president, Applications Development, Oracle. “Oracle Project Procurement addresses this challenge by enabling project management and procurement to closely collaborate throughout the lifecycle of the project. This not only helps project teams to establish and measure strategic project objectives, but importantly helps improve project procurement planning, decision making and execution.”

Integrated execution with Oracle Projects and Oracle Purchasing enables project and procurement team members to take the necessary preemptive actions before they actually surface in the form of schedule delays, cost overruns or wastage. Team members can explore business information from the E-Business Suite transactional system using interactive charts, metrics and guided navigation to correlate information from traditionally segregated sources and quickly arrive at the insight needed to make quick and accurate decisions. Your team members can quickly find the best suppliers, materials and services and align their procurement decisions to the shared critical success factors for the project and track supplier performance on-the-fly.

Even a small percentage of savings in procuring project resources can significantly increase project profits. But, traditional approaches to project supply chain management often rely on managing inventory or have segregated project management and procurement systems that increase decision latency and often result in significant resource wastage or under-utilization. Oracle Project Procurement allows teams to synchronize material specification, quality, budget, and need-by-date requirements to deliveries, and sync-up the project schedule to material availability. A single procurement plan unifies the interests of all project stakeholders so they share a single execution strategy that drives consistent decisions.
