Symptoms

When applying an Invoice Interface Hold on the line, and/OR SYSADMIN receives an error notification:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Order Management Responsibility
2. Sales Orders > Query Order
3. Navigate to line level
4. On line 1.1 > Actions > Apply Hold > Hold is applied (Line level Invoice Interface)
5. Notification is sent out.

Notifications are being sent to sysadmin user in Production instance - Local Event ERROR : oracle.apps.ont.genesis.outbound.update / 1461018
There are about 44,559 such open notifications in the WF_NOTIFICATIONS table.These are being sent to the Sysadmin user in Production and remain in Open state.
They are occupying a lot of space in WF tables and are becoming critical now from performance perspective as well. You need a solution to:
1. Get rid of existing ones
2. Stop these error notifications:--WF Purge program only purges CLOSED workflows.
