How to purge MLOG$ Tables in the OLTP database (Doc ID 1922560.1)

Last updated on APRIL 17, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Transportation Intelligence - Version 6.2.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

How can obsolete records in the MLOG$ tables be deleted to free up some storage usage?
Are these tables of any use for ROD ?
Why were they created in the OTM OLTP database and how should they be managed ?
These tables have even more records, than the parent tables.

The row count can be seen by running this query:

SQL> select table_name, num_rows from dba_tables where num_rows > 10000000 order by num_rows desc ;

The provided scripts to populate and maintain ROD using the materialized views does not have any effect on the MLOG$ tables,

even if the necessary jobs are present in the ROD database, and these jobs run successfully.
