Purpose

How to Diagnose and Resolve FRM-40735 and FRM-40654 errors in the Master Item and Organization Item form INVIDITM.fmb.

Normally these errors are caused by data issues in the following tables:

MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B
MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_TL
FND_FLEX_VALUES_TL
MTL_DESCR_ELEMENT_VALUES

Error Descriptions:

FRM-40735: ON-LOCK trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-20001
   In most cases, this type of error will be seen when an item will has an invalid value (null or no value) for a related attribute column.

FRM-40654: Record has been updated. Requery block to see the change
   This type of error will be seen when there is an invalid character/symbol OR leading/trailing space in any of the attributes of an item.

 A. Backup of key tables.
 B. Identify and Resolve Non-displayable characters in the INVIDITM.fmb form.
 1. Run the afchrchk.sql script.
 2. Manual Scripts.
 D. Fix mismatched Master/Organization level Items Attributes
 E. Check the Leading and Trailing spaces in the Segment and Attribute fields
 F. Check if the value sets values being used for the System Items Key Flexfield KFF have a start or end effective date.
 G. Check that the DUAL_UOM_CONTROL is correct for the INVENTORY_ITEM_ID and ORGANIZATION_ID.
 H. Using copy item functionality, create a new item from the existing problem item.
 I. Use the Item Open Import (IOI) to attempt to Update problematic item with minimal details to enable revalidation.
 J. Review if there are any default attributes showing NULL on the problematic item
