Is it approved or safe to update LAST_UPDATE_DATE in OKC_K_HEADERS_B , OKC_K_LINES_B and OKC_CONTACTS? (Doc ID 1935235.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Service Contracts - Version 11.5.10.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Business intelligence OBIEE is being used and there is a restriction in OBIEE environment to load only data which has been updated less than a day before.

There are certain data fixes and custom programs to update the standard (DFF attributes) which have not flown because last_update_date was not updated while updating the base tables through data fix or updating DFF through custom programs.

For the above reasons there is a need to update the last_update_date to sysdate in order to have it loaded in OBIEE (Oracle provided tools for BI and  sends an extract to this environment)

Is it  approved or safe to update LAST_UPDATE_DATE in OKC_K_HEADERS_B , OKC_K_LINES_B and OKC_CONTACTS? Or are there any concerns?

e.g.
UPDATing OKC_K_HEADERS_B
SETing LAST_UPDATE_DATE=SYSDATE
WHERE ID IN (XYZ,ABC).
