EAM Asset Number Simple Search Doesn't Return Any Results

When searching for a capital asset number, user inserts search criteria in 'Asset Number' field but after clicking 'Go' button no results are retrieved. However, if user leaves the 'Capital' page by clicking another tab region (i.e. 'Work Requests') or menu in the same tab (i.e. 'Rebuildable Inventory') and then back to the 'Assets'->'Capital' page then the page loads with the previously expected results without inserting any new search.
Expect the function to work for a single capital asset number on initial search
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Search for a single capital asset number - nothing found
2. Go to another tab
3. Return to the original page - search now works
