Unable to Enter Service Details For Subscription Type Item in Sales Order

Applies to:Oracle Service Contracts - Version 12.2.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
On 12.2 version, for Contract item type is Subscription, it is not possible to enter service details for Subscription type item in Sales Order.
When trying to place sales order, the Service start date, and Service end date are not getting enabled and not updatable.
Also the Action-> Service contract details is not available.
Gives error "Contract details form can be opened for service items only"
Expected to be able to enter the service start date , end date for the subscription item
Steps to Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Place sales order, Select a previously set Subscription Item. The Service Start Date , Service End Date is not getting enabled.
2. Also the Action -> Service contract details is not available.
3. and Gives error APP-ONT-251170 "Contract details form can be opened for service items only"
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot raise subscription contracts for this item.
