Field Service: Error When Executing Parts Transfer from Trunk Stock: "The item cannot be transferred" (Doc ID 1959233.1)

Symptoms

On : 12.1.3 version, Field Service Engineer Portal

When attempting to transfer parts from Trunk Stock, using transfer type Intransit (between source and destination), the following error occurs.

ERROR
-----------------------
The item cannot be transferred. Please contact the system administrator.

The error occurs with or without Internal Order required being enabled.


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to Field Service Technician Portal
2. click on trunk stock management
3. select a subinventory
4. click Go
5. for an available item , click on the Transfer icon
6. popup opens for parts transfer; destination org. defaults from return routing rules
7. click save and get Error:
  The item cannot be transferred. Please contact the system administrator.

 

This happens when the transfer type is Intransit and/or Internal Orders are required between the source and destination organization.
