Absence Overlaping Between 2 Schedules (Doc ID 1961781.1)

Symptoms


When applying for an absence with start date and end date on a different work schedule, the duration is calculated incorrectly.

Steps to Reproduce:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

     1) Super HRMS Manager Responsibility

     2) Create 2 Schedule Patterns and attach them to schedule

     Schedule Pattern 1

a_ Go to Work Structures>Work Schedules>Maintain Schedules>Schedule Patterns

b_Click on Create>Calendar based pattern
           Name: <calendar_name>
           Desc: <calendar_name> with 7 hours
           Day Monday, Tuesday to Friday etc 8:30am for 7hours

c_Click continue

d_Start date: Aug4th 2014 Monday
   End date: End of year Dec 31st

The first Schedule Pattern is created

Next step is to Create Schedule:
e_Select <Schedule Pattern1> created in earlier step
           Schedule Name: <Schedule_Name>
           Category: Work Schedule
           Effective date: Aug4th 2014 Monday
           Effective End : 31st Dec 2014

f_Click Next

g_Click Apply

Schedule created successfully

Schedule Pattern 2

a_ Go to Work Structures>Work Schedules>Maintain Schedules>Schedule Patterns

b_Click on Create>Calendar based pattern

Name: <calendar_name1>
Desc: <calendar_name> with 7 hours
Day Monday, Tuesday to Friday etc 8:30am for 7hours

c_Click continue

d_Start date: Aug4th 2014 Monday
   End date: End of year Dec 31st

The first Schedule Pattern is created

Next step is to Create Schedule:


e_Select <Schedule Pattern1> created in earlier step

Schedule Name: <Schedule_Name>
Category: Work Schedule
Effective date: Aug4th 2014 Monday
Effective End : 31st Dec 2014

f_Click Next

g_Click Apply

Schedule created successfully

  Now attach these to an employee

    3) Go to People>Enter and Maintain> retrieve the person employee

    4) Go to Assignment>Others button> Schedule

    5) Add schedule>Choose <calendar_Name1>
             Change Effective end date from 31st Dec 2014 to  October 21 and publish schedule.

    6) Add schedule>Choose <calendar_Name2>
             Choose Effective date of October 22 and publish schedule.

  Enter absence for employee

    7) Go to People>Enter and Maintain> Others button> select Absence from the list

    9) Select Absence Type> Personal Time
           Notified and actual start is 21 Oct 2014
           Time 08:30
           Actual end date is 21 Oct 2014
           Time 16:30

     10) When click on Calculate Duration it shows 32 hours or some times it shows 8 hours.
