Why is it not possible To Change Sample Disposition From PLANNED To PENDING Using The GMD APIs ? (Doc ID 1964316.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.

You may be looking to use the API to change sample disposition from Planned to Pending because you are unable to input test results for new samples in Planned disposition.
You know that the way to change sample disposition using the API is by using the 'gmd_disp_pub.change_disposition' procedure. The problem is that this procedure won't let you change a sample disposition while the current disposition is Planned (0PL), in there is a confition that says:

IF l_update_disp_rec.curr_disposition IN ('0PL','1P','7CN','0RT') THEN

Disposition Code and their meaning:
0PL is Planned
1P is Pending
7CN is Cancel
0RT is retain

How am I supposed to fulfill the requirement if the API procedure won't let me change it?
