Yonkers Taxable Wages Incorrect in W2 Box 18 When Employee Has Address Change During the Tax Year (Doc ID 1965772.1)

Last updated on MARCH 25, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle HRMS (US) - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On : 12.1.3 version, US Payroll Year End

Employee W2 Box 18 has wages for full year with Box 20 YONK, but employee did not have Yonkers wages for the full year.

Employee had a non-Yonkers address for all but their final payment in the year. There was an address change to a Yonkers address corresponding to the last payment. The view Tax Balances form shows only the final payment amount as subject to Yonkers, however the archived year end pre-processor tables and W2 indicate ALL the year's wages as subject to Yonkers tax.

Yonkers only applies to final payment wages, so W2 box 18 should only show the Yonkers wages

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
employee terminated 9/17/2014
all salary payments through that date were paid against a Scarsdale, NY 10583 address
employee's address was changed to Yonkers, NY 10704 effective 9/24/2014
vacation payment was made on 10/1/2014
view tax balances for Yonkers indicate only the amount of the payment made on 10/1/2014
pay_us_locality_w2_v indicates the full year wages
