Last updated on SEPTEMBER 06, 2016

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.2.3 version.

Non-text attachments sent from Email Center cannot be opened in recipient's
email client.  The issue has been reported for pdf's and image files.  Text
files can be opened without issue.

Only a Problem after mail.jar was upgraded from 1.3.2 to 1.4.3.

Observed there is no Content-Type in the message header with mail.jar 1.4.3.,
 ie:

12.2.3 message header:

Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=image.png
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

The same image sent with mail.jar  1.3.2 contains the following in message header:

Content-Type: image/x-png; name=image.png
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=image.png

The attachment opens fine when the original outgoing message is opened from
the Sent folder in Email Center 12.2.3.
