Symptoms

Receipts are not having Payment Extension Details post Upgrade to 12.2.3.

You are not able to view the payment details, post upgrade of Receipts to 12.2.3, with credit payment only if customer location of receipt is different than Bank account location for this customer.

The PAYMENT_TRXN_EXT_ID is NULL in the AR_CASH_RECEIPTS Table.

Analysis :

Instrument details (credit card Information) are stored in AP bank accounts for the customer and Location in Release 11i for every receipt.  However some of the Receipts are having different Customer Location compare to  AP Bank Accounts.
(Root Cause -User may be overridden the Location details post creation of credit card information - Need to validate this).

As part of Upgrade, IBY upgrade the instrument details (credit card information) from AP bank Accounts to IBY. Subsequently AR will retrieve the IBY upgraded data and populate the extension for these receipts. However this process did not go through for this scenario due to mismatch of customer location between Receipts and  IBY Upgraded credit card.

AR-IBY Integration:

In Release 12, Instrument (credit Card) information must be associated to every customer and location . So that the instrument will be used to create a payment extension identifer and stored the same in AR Receipt in order to integrate the payment details between IBY and AR.
