Absence Hours Entered From Employee Self Service Not Getting Reduced From Leave Balance (Doc ID 1970706.1)

Symptoms

On :  12.2.3 version

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

Absence hours entered from Employee Self Service is not being reduced from Entitled Leave balance

There is a user hook package HR_AU_ELEMENT_ENTRY_HOOK which updates the absence element's input value when absence information category (ABS_INFORMATION_CATEGORY in PER_ABSENCE_ATTENDANCES table) is 'AU_AUAL' or 'AU_AULSL'.

Observed that your absence element did not have the Start Date and End Date entry values.

When same absence is entered from PUI the accrual works correctly.


EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

The Entitled leave balance should be reduced when the employee's leave is entered.


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Employee self service - Absence management
  2. Create a new Leave of Absence
  3. In the PUI forms open Element Entry form for the person record
  4. Select the absence element entry
  5. Open the Entry Values for the Element - the number of hours is populated, but not start or end date.


BUSINESS IMPACT
