When adjusting a CIP asset, the following error is received:

APP-OFA-48392 Amortization Start Date must be after Date Placed in Service

The steps in Note 299917.1 and Note 353856.1 were attempted without resolution.

The assets were added via a customization to be under an AUC - Assets Under Construction. They do not depreciate. The date placed in service is the date they are set up.

When the asset is in use, go to the Books form and tick depreciate, save, then change the date in service to the day this change is made. Otherwise the depreciation will calculate for all the time the asset was under construction.

The fault is occurring as it does not allow to do both.  The system is ok when ticking depreciate but when changing the date in service, the pop up box says 'amortization start date must be after the date placed in service'.
