Error APP-OFA-48392 Amortization Start Date must be after Date Placed in Service when adjusting CIPS Asset to being used and therefore starting depreciation.
Attempted were: Note 299917.1 and Note 353856.1. No resolution here.
Added assets by customization to be under an AUC - Assets Under Construction. This is where they do not depreciate. The date placed in service is the date they are set up .
When the asset is in use then one goes into books form and ticks depreciate, save, then change the date in service to the day this change is made. Otherwise the depreciation will calculate for all the time the asset was under construction.
The fault is occurring as it does not allow to do both. System is ok when ticking depreciate but when to change the date in service, then the pop up box comes up saying 'amortization start date must be after the date placed in service'.
