Symptoms

When attempting to approve the supplier, the following error occurs and prevents the supplier approval from completing.

ERROR

ORA-20001: An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later if the problem persists, please contact your system administrator. ORA-06512: at "APPS.POS_SUPP_APPR", line 2636 ORA-06512: at line 1

Error from the Trace file

'ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too
 small"
 
 "create_supplier_address sqlerrm is ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value
 error: character string buffer too small"

 

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1.  Submit a supplier registration for approval
2.  Try to approve the supplier
