Last updated on FEBRUARY 05, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Applications DBA - Version 12.2 to 12.2 [Release 12.2Cloud]
Oracle E-Business Suite Technology Stack - Version 12.2 to 12.2 [Release 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

In E-Business Suite 12.2.4, there can be many Application Tiers nodes behind a load balancer connecting to the E-Business Suite (EBS) database.
Each application tier node runs all services, except WLS Admin Server, which is running only on the primary node. The WLS Admin Server is a single point of failure, so how do we protect it?  And can one migrate the WLS Admin Server to one of the slave nodes, to become the new primary?

How to transfer the WLS Admin server from the primary master node to a slave if the master node crashed?
How to start the EBS services if the WLS Admin Server is down or the primary node has crashed which has the WLS Admin Server?
