Trying To Use Google Maps In EAM For First Time, Map Flashes But Does Not Load (Doc ID 1988847.1)

Symptoms



ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

When trying to use Google Maps in EAM, map flashes but does not load any data.


BACKGROUND

Referencing <NOTE.779351.1> and going through the steps to enable Google maps,  GeoCodes were entered for the Asset. When hitting Map All, the map flashes for a moment but does not load. Have tried using IE9 and Chrome and same result.


EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Expect maps to load.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Set the following profile options correctly:
• (R) System Administrator
• (N) Profile > Systems
o 'CSI: Mapviewer Name' = Google
Profile value can be set at any level.
o 'CSI: Google Registration key'
This profile hold the complete registration key (license key) for the Google Maps and can be set at any level
o 'CSI: Google Map Client ID'
This profile hold the client ID for the licensed copy of Google Maps and can be set at any level

2. Associate the function 'Map All' to the responsibility meant for accessing Maintenance user's menu.
• (R) System Administrator
• (N) Application > Menu
o Query for "EAM_MAINTENANCE_UNIT_SEARCH" menu.
o Add the function 'Map All'
Associating the 'Map All' function to the responsibility will enable 'Map All' button and 'Map' button to EAM/ OAT responsibilities.

3. Enter geocodes for assets/instances manually using the 'Mass Geocode Entry' form:
• (R) Maintenance Super User responsibility or Asset Tracking Super User responsibility
• (N) Assets > Mass Geocode Entry
o Query for an Asset Number
o Enter geaocodes for the Asset
o Save.

4. View the EAM Assets on Google Map:
• (R) Maintenance Super User
• (N) Assets > Capital
o Query for an Asset Number
o Click 'Map All' button to locate the asset in the Google Map Viewer.
OR
• (R) Asset Tracking Super User
• (N) Assets > Item instance
o Query for an item instance.
o Click 'Map All' button to locate the asset in the Google Map Viewer.

Clicking on ‘Map All’ button will render all the assets/instances fetched by the search criteria in the Google Map Viewer.
