In Item Reservations (Order Management) INVRSVF1 Getting Error 'The maximum value size for segment Row is 3. Truncating value' While Saving Reservation Details (Doc ID 1989416.1)

Symptoms

In Sales Order form (Line Items), user is trying to reserve the order line to a specific Lot/Sub-inventory/Locator from Tools > Scheduling > Reservation details.
In the Item Reservations form, user is tabbing through the fields (Type, Header, etc) in the Demand and Supply tab respectively, entering the Lot number, Subinventory, Locator as applicable followed the quantity. Then, once Save is clicked, 3 Notes are appearing as warning messages and then the record is getting saved

The maximum value size for segment Row is 3. Truncating value nnnnnnn to nnn.
The maximum value size for segment Bay is 3. Truncating value abcdefghij to abc.
The maximum value size for segment Tier is 3. Truncating value thisstring to thi.

The values which are being truncated as per the messages are actually the Sales order number, order type and 'ORDER ENTRY' respectively which are available in the 'Header' field in Demand Tab.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Sales Order form (Line Items), user is trying to reserve the order line to a specific Lot/Sub-inventory/Locator from Tools > Scheduling > Reservation details.
