Symptoms

Reporting Sequence does not get the initial number on the first period of the year. It might have worked fine for a few previous years, then for the next years sequencing did not start with the first number defined in the sequence's definition.

There are no Adjustment periods in the calendar at the beginning of the year and no unposted journals that could cause the issue (Note 1096803.1).

Reopening the periods for all problematic years and closing them back did not help, the issue reproduces identically, skipping exactly the same number of journals.
