Error while Activating Service Contracts - Error Type Sending Email Failed (Doc ID 1998209.1)

When attempting to activate a Service Contract, a notification email that a contract has been activated is received. This is expected, however, another notification with the following error is also received:

Workflow Error for Contract <contract number> for <customer name>.

Error Type Sending email failed.
Message Enter a valid Quote to Email.

1. Create a Service Contract.
2. On the Summary> Renewals tab do not populate any Quote To information.
4. Activate the contract.
5. The user receives one notification that the contract is activated, which is fine. Then another notification follows that give the indicated error.


 This issue may start after applying a patch.
