Transaction Error Message Not Populated In MTL_INTERFACE_ERRORS Table After Running Item Categories Interface

When Running INV_ITEM_CAT_ASSIGN_OI module: Item Category Assignment Open Interface, if the UPDATE item category transaction errors, no corresponding record is written to MTL_INTERFACE_ERRORS.


Expect that MTL_INTERFACE_ERRORS will be populated if an error occurs

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. insert update transaction into mtl_item_categories_interface with invalid category_id
2. Launch Import Item Category Assignments
3. Check mtl_interface_errors for entry

select * from mtl_interface_errors where table_name = 'MTL_ITEM_CATEGORIES_INTERFACE';
