WMS: Destination Sub-inventory is Getting Stamped in wms_label_requests Table when Printing Shipping Content Label for Pick Drop Business Flow (Doc ID 2005389.1)

Last updated on JULY 19, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Warehouse Management - Version 12.2.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Unexpected Shipping Contents label format is getting used for Pick Drop business flow labels.

Per the business requirements, the label format depends on the drop (staging) subinventory. Hence WMS label rules are defined with below Restrictions:

Seq: 10
Object: Source Subinventory
Parameter: Subinventory Name
Operator: =
Object: Constant number
Parameter / Value / LOV: 19

Seq: 20
Object: Source Subinventory
Parameter: Subinventory Name
Operator: =
Object: Constant character
Parameter / Value / LOV: subinventory name for the drop (staging) subinventory

This setup was working fine in R11i.
After upgrading to R12.2.4, the rules engine is now firing the rule with Source Subinventory.Subinventory Name = subinventory name for the source (Pick From) subinventory instead.
As a result, the label has an unexpected format and the Label Requests History form is showing the source subinventory name in Subinventory field.

-- Expectation
(1) Expect the rules engine to fire the rules based on the drop (staging) subinventory name.
(2) Expect the label format to contain the drop (staging) subinventory name.
(3) Expect the Label Requests History form to show the drop (staging) subinventory name in Subinventory field.

Changes

The problem started to occur after upgrading from R11i to R12.2.4.
